The Complaints Bureau – Greenlit

The Complaints Bureau

After a very successful first series our consumer show The Complaints Bureau will be returning to RTÉ ONE in March 2025.

Finance expert Eoin McGee once again sets the caseload for three consumer journalists advocating and arguing on behalf of members of the public who have hit brick walls. The trio – Conor Pope, Amy Molloy and Siobhan Maguire tackle problems big, small and seemingly intractable while Eoin brings his unique authority to consumer rights and financial know-how.

In Series One the team successfully advocated for consumers across a whole range of problems: Amy tracked down the scammer who relieved a couple of €2,800 for a fake luxury villa in Portugal, booked for their dream wedding; an Irish priest in New Jersey sought the intervention of the Pope – Conor Pope – to sort out the airline voucher he couldn’t use; in the mysterious case of the vanishing electricity Siobhan brought light to one Dublin customer who, after a major eco refit of his home, couldn’t figure out why his solar panels weren’t producing much energy.

Siobhan also helped an avid online clothes shopper who was chasing her money for returned dresses that went missing in transit. Conor took on the case of the car owner left some €14,000 out of pocket after his vehicle failed without warning on a motorway. And Amy united a blushing bride with her missing wedding dress … after nearly 4 years!

In Series 2 the team are keen to help more people resolve their complaints. They want to hear problems big and small and everything in between – so if people feel they are being treated poorly as a paying customer, if they’ve been the victim of a scam or blatant rip-off, or if they’re unhappy with a service or a product … we want to hear that story.

Whether it’s a problem with health, housing, tech, travel, ticketing, motoring, builders, white goods, furniture, online services …. or anything else consumer related … the programme wants to try and help.
